Material Matters at Saul Hay

 

Not long until the launch of Material Matters at Saul Hay in Castlefield… a group show “exploring the physicality of the artist’s chosen medium, considering our sense of history and the mystical connections we feel to our landscape”. The preview takes place on Friday 21st July from 6 – 8.30 pm. If you are able to make it, I look forward to seeing you there! If not, there is still plenty of time to check it out. The exhibition will run from 22nd July until 17th September.

Upcoming show at Saul Hay Gallery, Manchester

I am delighted to share news that I will be taking part in a group exhibition curated by Ian Hay at Saul Hay Gallery in Castlefield, Manchester next month. A number of my pieces will be on display alongside work from Allyson Barton, Margaret Cahill, Tracey Eastham, Jane Fairhurst, Rachel GrimshawSusan Gunn, Georgia Noble and Diana Terry. Featured in “Bookmarking Book Art – On the Origin of Species” by Robert Bolick

My work has been featured recently in an interesting piece written by Robert Bolick titled “Bookmarking Book Art – On the Origin of Species“. This essay charts the influence that Darwin’s text has had on creative practitioners around the world (myself included).

Staff Room 2017, Creative Arts Exhibition, Trafford College

I am currently showing two pieces of work at Trafford College‘s inaugural exhibition in CA1 Gallery. Curated by Mark Green (Art and Design Curriculum Leader) and Antony Clarkson (from PS Mirabel), the show houses works by a number of Creative Arts staff both past and present. Previewing on 23rd February (6-8pm) , the exhibition will run until 17th March (Monday to Friday 10am-4pm).

“Art + Text 2017” at 44AD, Bath

Thrilled to announce that my work has been selected for the Art + Text exhibiton 2017 at 44AD Artspace in Bath (curated by Kelly O’Brien and Sveta Antonova). The opening event/private view is due to take place on 21st February from 6-8pm. There will also be talks and a tour of the show (planned for the 26th February at 3pm). More information coming soon…

Preview of Stretford Arts Collective Exhibition

Friday saw the opening of SA32‘s first arts exhibition at Stretford Public hall; a beautiful Victorian grade 2 listed building commissioned by John Rylands. Held in the Ballroom, the exhibition showcased the work of local artists as part of the venue’s rebirth as a cultural centre, creative work space and community hub. This free event was opened by DJ, producer and graphic artist “Mr Scruff” and ran until Sunday 13th November.

SAC32 Exhibition, Stretford

Upcoming exhibition news! I will be displaying a few pieces at Stretford Public Hall along with a variety of other local artists and makers as part of SAC32‘s first exhibition. Opening on Friday 11th November 6-9pm (for the preview), Saturday 12th from 12-9pm and Sunday 13th 12-4pm. If you can make it, I look forward to seeing you there!

The Manchester Contemporary VIP Collector’s Tour, ArtWork Atelier, Salford

Following an exceedingly busy few weeks, I have finally managed to move into my new, larger studio space with fellow artist Nick Sykes at ArtWork Atelier (just in time for the VIP Collector’s tour as part of the Manchester Contemporary festival)! Opening this evening only (from 6-8pm), collectors will have the opportunity to view the studios and speak to a variety of artists about their work.
